| Benefit using creative
elimination styling of the trouser sloper in any of a variety of ways. For example,
starting with a trouser sloper drafted using gentle ease, eliminate waistband, unnecessary
facings and pockets. Add or eliminate other pockets as desired. Remove shaping above the
hipline by transforming arcs or curves into lines and add a casing for elastic or cord.
Using the pattern with a fleece type of knit fabric can result in a sweat-pant, or with
woven cotton may be made to resemble soccer pants. Cut to a length above the knee, the
trouser could be used for sport or walking shorts. For best results, styles achieved with
creative elimination techniques should first be tested in an inexpensive fabric of similar
weight and drape to the fabric to be used. A test garment will show whether you have
achieved the desired results. |
