from an additional informal piece of casualwear to part of a fine three-piece suit.
Styling for a variety of uses need not involve pattern modifications. Choice of
fabric and number and style of buttons can influence style of the vest enormously. As an
extra layer of insulation for outerwear, start by modifying the sloper to give it
additional ease. When styling, eliminate darts and front facing, straighten curved
seamlines and lower edge and change the front closure from buttons to zipper. Remove
or add pockets as desired. |
