CADTERNS Pro creates slopers in DXF (drawing interchange) format.  This is the file format used to exchange drawing information between CADTERNS and other applications, including most CAD programs.  This means those programs such as AutoSketch, AutoCAD, QuickCAD, and several others can accept sloper drawings created with CADTERNS . 

NB: To work in real-life scale, it is important to use a CAD (drafting) program such as those listed above rather than a drawing program such as Paint or CorelDRAW.  A drawing program will draw the shapes but will not draw them to scale.  This means that you could draw the slopers for documentation and illustration but you could not use them as patterns.

Using the CAD program, you can modify, save and print CADTERNS slopers as well as any patterns made from them.  (If you don’t have a drafting program, you can download a 30-day free trial from Intellicad, or use a search engine such as Google to search the World Wide Web for Free CAD.)"

To import a sloper DXF into your CAD program:

• Go to the main menu

  • Select File

  • Choose Open

• Navigate back to your CADTERNS or other folder containing your CADTERNS DXF files.

• Select files of type: Drawing Interchange (*.DXF).

  • A list of all drawings in DXF format including any personal sloper drawings appears.

  • Choose the sloper drawing that you wish.

• Save your sloper drawing so that it is in the drawing format of your CAD program.
